Dr. Vahid Matejko, born 1982 in Berlin, German-Persian-Polish descent, studied jazz, composition/arrangement at the University of Music in Cologne. Diploma with Distinction. Doctorate in Musicology ("magna cum laude") at the University of Cologne.
With more than fifty commercially available products under his own name alone (CDs and sheet music editions with CDs), Vahid Matejko has made an international name for himself. His works are played and performed by various musicians worldwide.
Several of his play-along editions - recorded by some of the most renowned European soloists - reached the ranking of "Best Seller No.1" on Amazon several times. His compositions are played on various international radio stations.
The national music press and the most renowned critics of various musical genres agree: Vahid Matejko is considered one of the most promising and interesting talents of the German music scene, both as a composer and as a producer. They praise his unmistakable handwriting and his exciting way of adapting music from a wide variety of cultures with profound understanding and always producing something independent and new from it.
In addition to his own musical projects, Vahid Matejko does commissioned compositions, arrangements and productions for various projects, ensembles and artists of different styles, ranging from orchestra and big band to purely electronic jingles.
In addition, Vahid Matejko has 20 years of teaching experience in teaching music (since 1997 until currently) in composition/arrangement, computer based music production, piano, keyboard, improvisation, world music and free music improvisation for various instruments, both in private and group lessons and runs the Dr. Matejko Music School.
